RED -2 is a well established unit which is performing all kinds of Orthopaedic and Traumatology related surgeries everyday. This unit is well known for several orthopaedic sub-specialities like Paediatric Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy, Arthroplasty, Spine Surgery and Illizarov as well. About 20 regular doctors including Associate Professors, Assistant Professor, Junior Consultants, Resident Surgeon, Registrar, Assistant Registrars and Medical Officers are doing their regular OPD, Emergency, Indoor patient management and all variety of routine as well as special operations.
The unit is headed by Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman (Assoc. Professor) who is a very dynamic person and renowned Paediatric orthopaedic surgeon in Bangladesh. Under his proper guidance and leadership doctors are performing various special and critical Paediatric operations routinely.
Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy another special sub-speciality of orthopaedic surgery. Doctors of Red Unit-2 performing both Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy operation under the leadership of Dr. G.M. Jahangir Hossain (Assoc. Prof.) one of the famous and renowned Arthroscopy surgeon in Bangladesh.
